Melbourne Delight

Tacky title but I really can’t think of anything else to write……. Oh well. I’ve had the opportunity to do some fun work here in Melbourne and have actually photographed some.

First up is Sri Ganesh on Sandy – the photo’s didn’t come out so well but I liked this shot and it does show the detail so I thought I’d include it in this post.

Chris came in and had a bug mandal and bee done – I  loved doing this and hope he is happy with the result.

A lucky chance brought in this piece as Leonie was ill therefore I stepped in and redrew a sketch brought in by the customer.

Another piece of luck as Richie came in off the cuff at Tattoo Magic and I had him come in twice and we did these pieces – in the bottom photo the tattoo is a week old and almost all healed up.

Kapitan Voodoo aka Fat Knee Nik had this colour mandala jabbed on to his, later swollen, knee. I’ll get a healed shot of this soon with any luck as I’m going to be doing the other knee.

Amy had an islamic inspired mandala on her feet – she changed her mind halfway through and went without colour – no problem.

Kayci had a colourful seahorse with mandala done – it almost matched her hair at the time (not shown but believe me)…..

Sam had his first tattoo – ‘Eyes’ he said…..

Miss Cutie-Kills had a fun traditional mermaid doing. Nice and bright…..

Paul wanted a simple origami swan – nice one mate.

Octopus Days

We had a nice time in Derby with our friends at Octopus Tattoo. I tattooed 3/4 of the Horton family so many thanks to you all for keeping me busy and out of trouble. First up is a shot of Daisy’s feet.

Then it was Mei-Lin getting a gypsy head.

The next morning Paul was in getting a pin-up.

Then on the Monday Daisy ‘The Brave” was in again getting her arm done with a selection of stuff.

Later in the week I had Sam come all the way from Aberdeen – the poor lad was pretty wiped out as he’d just come off night shift on the rigs offshore then travelled straight down to finish his sleeve. Well done mate and thank you.

And for another two days I had Izzy in – yet another trooper I can tell you. I loved doing these pieces as I feel they are representative of my own style.

Rain City

Well we had a great time while working in Rain City, Manchester. I did some fun tattoos and Kay did a Vintage Styling workshop for the Lindy Hop group.

The whole crew in this new studio were fantastic and very welcoming. The work coming out of here is also fantastic and if you are nearby (or even your not) it’s well worth seeking them out for a tattoo.

Thanks so much to all of you folks at Rain City and especially to Gre for your fantastic host skills and ,as ever, great company. Oh and thanks to Forbes for altering my laces and Kays soles……

I took it rather easy but here are a  few of the pieces I did there:

Sailor Loves

Sailor Fordette had a lovers skulls tattoo on her thigh. A sneaky swallow and rose mandala slipped in it too….

Sealife See Life

Jon came down and had me do this crustacean  on him we decided a scallop should also be added. I really had fun doing this. Thanks to Jon and Stu for the bottle o’rum too!

Hope Skull and Anchor

I got in to small details on these….

Annoyingly there is still a bit of stencil left on the hat band…..grr!

Oh Dear

I’ve been so busy organising stuff and wandering off to get tattooed myself that I’ve neglected the site and I apologise again. I will keep it more up to date from now on……

First up is Kim with her bad ass octopus. I loved doing this as you can probably tell…..

Next up we did Candy Poison a tattoo for her burlesque identity.

Last up here is some heavy duty feet  roses – one of which is a cover up.

Nautical Themes – Ships and Sailor Dames

I had fun doing these pieces – referencing lots of old school masters.

Persevere.

This is the crest of the burgh of Leith in Edinburgh but with a lyrics banner in place of the traditional “Persevere . I think it hurt.

Barny

Barny’s first piece…he’s a bit of a collector now though.

…he soon came back.
