Edinburgh London

I had a nice time down in London at Into You – such a friendly and talented crew, I really am looking forward to my return in August (7-8-9th). If you’re in London or nearby and want to book in then please email: blue@into-you.co.uk.

Here are some of the things I did there mixed in with some stuff from Edinburgh.

Also here are a couple of pieces that I managed to get healed shots of. It’s always good when you get the chance to get the tattoo once it’s settled in.

Auld Reekie

I have been at Red Hot and Blue in Edinburgh, Scotland for the last few weeks where I have been being kept busy. It’s always a great shop to work in with a diverse clientele as well as being in a great city. Here’s some of the stuff I’ve been doing:

London Tattoo Convention 2014

I was fortunate enough to work at the London Tattoo Convention this year for which I’d like to say thanks to Miki Vialetto and all of the crew. It was a last minute affair and consequently I didn’t have time to get a banner or much other stuff together to make my booth look nice but I rolled with it and knocked together a purposely näive banner and made the best of it. I haven’t done too many shows in the last few years but had  great time and was kept busy at this very well attended convention chatting to visitors to the booth and tattooing some great customers.  I  hardly had time to visit any other booths or the art exhibitions unfortunately which is a shame since there were so many friends and other sights to see that I missed out on – such is life.

My lovely wife was there assisting me  and taking photographs over the weekend as well as selling her own ‘Wee Dottle’ Hairflowers which were popular amongst the lady attendees. Here are a few photographs from over the weekend and some of the tattoos:

The Prodigal Son Asia and Pattern

So the reason there has been so little activity from me for the last couple of months is because I have been travelling throughout Asia which has been fantastic. I have seen so much and my reference folders are literally bursting with new pictures, from patterns to statues, paintings and architecture. I have been snapping away on my faithful little camera.I’m really fired up and full of ideas I’d like to use when I return to tattooing in the next few weeks.  I thought it might be nice to share at least a few pieces with you all so here are some patterns, mainly floor and ceiling tiles for you to enjoy – I hope you do.

Melbourne Delight

Tacky title but I really can’t think of anything else to write……. Oh well. I’ve had the opportunity to do some fun work here in Melbourne and have actually photographed some.

First up is Sri Ganesh on Sandy – the photo’s didn’t come out so well but I liked this shot and it does show the detail so I thought I’d include it in this post.

Chris came in and had a bug mandal and bee done – I  loved doing this and hope he is happy with the result.

A lucky chance brought in this piece as Leonie was ill therefore I stepped in and redrew a sketch brought in by the customer.

Another piece of luck as Richie came in off the cuff at Tattoo Magic and I had him come in twice and we did these pieces – in the bottom photo the tattoo is a week old and almost all healed up.

Kapitan Voodoo aka Fat Knee Nik had this colour mandala jabbed on to his, later swollen, knee. I’ll get a healed shot of this soon with any luck as I’m going to be doing the other knee.

Amy had an islamic inspired mandala on her feet – she changed her mind halfway through and went without colour – no problem.

Kayci had a colourful seahorse with mandala done – it almost matched her hair at the time (not shown but believe me)…..

Sam had his first tattoo – ‘Eyes’ he said…..

Miss Cutie-Kills had a fun traditional mermaid doing. Nice and bright…..

Paul wanted a simple origami swan – nice one mate.
